Given that one doesn't drive far with no auxiliaries, especially now with winter beginning to make itself felt, I was interested to see what the range figures were when some heat was being put into the car. The picture below shows the same "no auxiliaries" line in dark blue, with 1 KW through 6 KW auxiliaries consumption range lines shown beneath.

The 1 KW auxiliary figure below is computed by adding 1 to the drive motor power consumpion for a speed in the table above to give a total car consumption. 24 is then divided by the total car consumption figure to identify the time in hours taken to exhaust the 24 KWH batteries. The time in hours to empty the batteries is then multiplied by the cruise speed to yield the 1 KW Aux range figure. The 2-6 KW auxiliary figures have been computed in the same manner.

Given that I normally only charge to 80%, and prefer to get home with a couple of bars of charge left, I reduced all the above figures by 40% to give the ranges which are more relevant to my use of the Leaf. All these figures are of course only a guide. "Your mileage may vary" they say.
